Kanban Project: Creation

Overview

In this article, we are going to show you how to create a Kanban Project using the Project Creation Wizard, without utilizing a Project Template.

Project Creation Wizard

Creating a Kanban Project uses the same navigation as our other Project Types. From the Project Creation Wizard:

Select Create New Project (1) > Kanban (2) > Next (3). (If your org is using Record Types for Projects, you would need to select the Record Type first, then follow the steps.)

The next page will allow you to select your Kanban Board Process.

  1. These colorful squares will represent the kanban column headers in your new project.
  2. If you know the board process, use the search bar at the top.

Select Next, then fill out the top-level details.

  1. Desired Start Date and Desired End Date will set the start and end dates for your project.
  2. Give your project a name and any other project details
  3. Save.

Once you hit Save and your Project has been created, you are able to start adding Cards.

On the header for the Board Process Step, open the drop-down menu and select ‘Add New Card.’ A card represents a single item on the board that needs to be updated and completed.

A modal will pop up where you can enter the details for the card. The Fields in this modal are controlled by a Field Set on the Card Object, called Quick Entry.

Once you have added all of the cards that you would like in your Kanban Project, you are all set to start working in your project.

In the next section, we will discuss editing and working on your Kanban Project.
