Configure Details Side Panel

OVERVIEW

One of the best parts of being Native to Salesforce, is that you can configure details, such as the Side Panel, in a way that you are familiar with. Out of the box, our Side Panels have a default set of fields listed. In order to edit the Side Panels, a custom Field Set needs to be created using the API name ccsidepanel. There are four different Side Panels that can be configured: 

  • Project Side Panel- Located on the Cross Project Gantt View.
  • Project Phase Side Panel- Located on the Project Timelines View, and the Project Phases Tab.
  • Project Task Side Panel- Located on the Timelines View, Project Tasks Tab  and the My Day page. 
  • Tickets Side Panel- Controls section of a Project, the My Day page, and the Tickets Tab.

CREATE NEW

To create a new Side Panel Field Set, Navigate to one of the four Objects: Project, Project Phase, Project Task or Ticket. Select Field Sets, then New. Enter these details:

  • Field Set Label: Project Side Panel
  • Field Set Name: ccsidepanel
  • Where is this used?: The Side Panel of a Project on the Cross Project Gantt View.

Once you click ‘Save’ you will be taken to the screen where you can click and drag the Fields you want exposed into the Field Set. Once you are done adding Fields, hit the Save button and go check out your work! 

 

UPDATE EXISTING FIELD SET

To select fields to display,  go to Setup → Object Manager → Project/Project Phase/Project Task/Ticket → Field Sets → Edit Project Side Panel Field Set.

Once the Field Set is open, fields can be added or removed by dragging and dropping from the panel above. The field order is the same that will display on the side panel for My Day, Tickets, and/or Timelines pages.

To make a field required: Select the tool icon → Check the box labeled “Required” → Click OK
